Outdoor Arts Portugal provides an annual capacity building plan for Portuguese artistic and production stakeholders, targeting strategic themes, good creative practices and also the environmental and human dimensions. Additionally, through an international partnership network, it creates conditions to access relevant international programs in the defined training plan.

Outdoor Arts Portugal develops strategic actions aimed at different target audiences with a view to support the integrated sectoral development of artistic creation in the public space, with a special focus on aesthetic and dramaturgical innovation and strategic mediation actions for the audience development, namely in their introduction to contemporary arts. Its activity aims at the continuous evolution of the political and social recognition, contributing to the legitimacy of the sector on a national scale, in line with its European counterparts.

The Outdoor Arts Portugal interactive map constitutes a unique sectoral database in Portugal, in strategic alignment with European priorities for mapping and (re)knowledge of artistic agents. Categorized into five typologies - artists, festivals, creation spaces, training and umbrella organizations - the database also includes a factsheet of artistic creations, available in a bilingual model, promoting integrated international communication.

Supported by the international vision promoted by Bússola, Outdoor Arts Portugal takes part in different European networks and platforms, collaborating with multiple international projects aligned with the priorities of legitimizing artistic creation in the public space and circus as dimensions of contemporary arts. In addition to participation in international networks - Circostrada Network, IETM, IN-SITU, N.I.C.E. - Outdoor Arts Portugal takes active roles in cooperation projects and informal collaborative networks.
