Creative FLIP Research “Innovative Policy Instruments – Complementing Covid-19 Relaunch Practices” highlighted Outdoor Arts Portugal as an inspiring practice for the relaunch of the creative sector.
The disruptive power of the 2020-21 pandemic requires bold innovation support initiatives to fully relaunch the cultural and creative sectors. In this Creative FLIP report, we look into good practice innovation support programmes to support relaunch. What are key features of good innovation support programmes? Which policy practices can we already observe across Europe? What can we learn from them for future policy making?
The researchers selected public and private projects that respond to key features of current challenges, including implementation frameworks; innovation enablers; innovation topics; as well as research and training. The activities of the Outdoor Arts Portugal platform reach all the key topics evaluated, creating networking opportunities; supporting the creative innovation expected from the cultural and creative sector; touching the territorial dimension; promoting new formats (crisis-proof); encouraging the use of public spaces; and supporting research and “technical” training.
Outdoor Arts Portugal is supported by the Portuguese Ministry of Culture, through Direção-Geral das Arts, and GDA Foundation.
