Beatriz Valentim began her dance studies with the Royal Academy of Dance. In 2013, she completed the training course for dancers, at the Dance School of the National Conservatory (Lisbon). She concluded her training with the Elit Training Program of the Budapest Dance Theater and the F.O.R. Dance Theater, at the Olga Roriz Company. She has a degree in Sociology from ISCTE-IUL (Lisbon) and a Post-Graduation in Contemporary Dance at ESMAE (Oporto), ending up with a scholarship for Camping 2020 at Centre National de la Danse, Paris.
Professionally, she works with several choreographers and artists such as Olga Roriz / Olga Roriz Company, Renato Zanella, Jérôme Bel, Raimund Hoghe, Mafalda Deville / Instável Company, Sara Garcia, Elisabeth Lambeck, Olatz de Andrés / Kale Dance Company, Inês Jacques and Mão Morta, São Castro and António Cabrita, Teatro do Montemuro, Sílvia Real and Francisco Camacho, Ensemble Sociedade de Actores, Né Barros / Balleteatro, Jonas & Lander and Joana Magalhães / Comédias do Minho. As a choreographer, she created Beirut for Estúdio B (2016), Help me with my cry, A Dança and Ectasy for Balleteatro Professional School's 3 rd year of dance. Her first creation along with Pedro Souza, VADO: solo sobre coisas vazias, had its premiere at the 20th Cerveira’s International Art Bienal (2018), followed by the solo NINA, about the pop and punk artist Nina Hagen, which was presented at Serralves em Festa (2019) and Curtas de Dança (2020). In 2021, she created Self, a duet about the concept of duality, presented at Festival Interferências, Lisbon, and Corpo + Cidade/DDD out, Matosinhos.
She was also an artistic former of GruA – artistic practices developed by ASAS Solidarity Association. She collaborates as a contemporary dance teacher with several schools and companies in Portugal, such as Balleteatro, Pallco Performing Arts School, Estudios Vítor Córdon, F.O.R. Dance Theater Companhia Olga Roriz, among others.
